Even though a decision had been made days earlier, the club waited today to release an official statement saying the Brazilian had left the club.
The star who made the starting lineup in Fluminese's 2-0 victory over Goiás at the weekend, he was substituted after just 47 minutes for Marcos Júnior.
The relationship, which was badly damaged by the poor performance of the Brazilian, finally broke over the last couple of days and both the club and the player decided to agree to seek the best possible outcome.
This resulted in a statement being released today. The statement thanked the footballer for his time at the club and wished him luck in his future career:
Fluminense would like to communicate the breaking of contract between the club and footballer Ronaldinho, which happened in a friendly manner and mutual agreement.
From the first contact with our club, the sportsman and his representatives have treated the club with professionalism and respect. The same positive attitude was shown in training.
Fluminense and Ronaldinho will continue the established links and plans to work on future projects.
It should be noted that recruitment of his services also responded to the expectations regarding: the marketing, increasing demand for tickets, selling shirts and the number of partners.
Ronaldinho also showed Brazil that Fluminense can arouse the interest of greatest players in world football.
Fluminense thanks to Ronaldinho and wishes him luck for his future career.
The ex Barcelona and Milan player also said goodbye to the team on his Twitter account:
Obrigado a toda galera Fluminense!!
E com muito respeito e agradecimento me despeço deste grande clube!! pic.twitter.com/Yt6wbtZXsC
