According to Spanish publication 'As', the Catalan giants have thrown their hat into the ring and plan to fight for 17-year-old Palmeiras gem Alan de Souza Guimaraes.
Barcelona know that Madrid are ahead of them in terms of negotiations, but they have already devised a plan to pip their eternal rivals to the post: use the same strategy they used to get their hands on Neymar.
Andre Cury, the club's representative in Brazil, was the man who helped bring Neymar to the Camp Nou, and Barca are reportedly planning on using the same man to help convince Alan to follow in the footsteps of the world's most expensive footballer. Cury reportedly also has a very good relationship with Palmeiras sporting director Alexandre Mattos.
It's not the first time that Cury and Mattos have met eachother across the negotiation table, as they were both involved in the transfer of Yerry Mina from Palmeiras to Catalonia.
Could Barcelona overtake Madrid in the pursuit of the Brazil U17 international, the same way they did with Neymar?
