Arsenal are hoping to make Bolton Wanderer's 20-year-old defender Rob Holding their first signing in the summer, according to reports from the Sun.
It is believed the Gunners made a bid for the centre-back on Friday afternoon, before the defender was consequently removed from the squad for Bolton's last game of the season against Fulham on Saturday.
Despite the fact he was voted the club's Player of the Season, Bolton are set to let him go for a fee of around £5 million.
The player has also drawn interest from other teams such as Everton, Bournemouth and Celtic.
